He had a string of pop and country hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including his signature No. 1 hit "Honey", which sold over 1 million copies in the United States, and the UK top-10 single "Summer". Goldsboro was born in Marianna, Florida.[2] During his first year of life, his family moved 35 miles (56 km) north from Marianna to Dothan, Alabama.[1] He graduated from Dothan High School in 1959 and later enrolled at Auburn University. Bobby was very famous in the 1960s and popular guest on many shows. We teenagers would call our friends to let them tune-in to hear his cricket sound. We loved Bobby's songs as well as his humor with the cricket sound.
